One of the oldest areas in Austin, Old Enfield is located west of downtown, north of Enfield Road and west of Duncan Park. Bounded on the west by MoPac Hwy. and the north by Windsor Road, Old Enfield is a rather small area with a big history. Part of an 1841 land grant, this area is home to many fine old colonial homes, including the Pease Mansion.

Most of the homes in Old Enfield were built between 1910 and 1950, with more than 90% owner occupied. Home prices generally run between the $200,000’s and the $500,000’s. Though there are many long-time residents, Old Enfield is a popular area for students and your professionals.

Old Enfield is part of the Old West Austin neighborhood, which began as a 320 acre land grant. This area has been designated by the American Planning Association as one of 10 Great Neighborhoods for 2007 through its “Great Places in America” program.

Duncan Park borders Old Enfield and offers a winding trail along Shoal Creek for tranquility, while the other side of the park has a popular and challenging BMX track. Extreme bikers come from far and wide to experience the challenge of this BMX track.

The Commute from Old Enfield to downtown Austin should be made via Enfield Road and won't take more than 9 minutes.
