Long term growth for Austin Real Estate looks positive

Contributed by ATR Admin on June 27, 2009
Recent figures reported by Bizjournals estimate that the Austin Metro area will grow to more than 2.7 million population by 2025. Austin and its suburbs are projected to be the 5th fastest growing area out of 250 US metropolitan areas studied in recent government data. This would be an 87% increase on the 2005 population of just under 1.5 million. Projections expect 2.7 million residents in Austin-Round Rock area by 2025. Other major Texas cities in the study were Dallas/Fort Worth with an expected 50% population increase; Houston with 48% and San Antonio with a projected 41% increase. Good news at last, although it is still well in the future.
