What are the Austin real estate statistics? Is the market doing well right now?

Does anyone know how Austin is doing compared to the other major markets around the US? Is the worst over or should I wait a while longer before making the pludge into home ownership??

Home sales in Austin had dropped in the last quarter of 2008. The signs are good that sales are now picking up as speculators start to buy up low-priced foreclosed properties. There may be worse to come however, with defaults likely on Option ARM and Alt A mortgages as they fall due in the future.
